Work and Travel USA'07 (Kingston)

It was another of our off days and Wei Ni organized another 1 day trip. This time the place is Kingston, the former capital of New York. This old town is just a little bit north above New Paltz and it only cost us USD7 for a round trip by bus.

Well, there isn't much to see here at Kingston. Compared to Albany, it is a much smaller town and apparently, very peaceful (boring). However, since we are already here, we might as well just take a look around. We were touring the town on foot and we pass by;

This statue (Don't ask me who he/she is....I don't know).

Church....old church...really old church.

... suddenly,an old man, from the grave yard(Don't worry,...He's a kind looking old man...not a zombie creeping out from a grave) came and asked us if we want to have a look inside the church. Well of course, we gladly accepted the invitation.

It was called "The Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of the Town of Kingston in Ulster County". What a long name....

The building is really an old one. Even the walls are falling apart.

Jeffery is a voluntary worker in the church, and a soon to be historian. He gave us a tour of the church building and even gave us a really detailed narration on the 400 year old history of the church.

It was the first time I seen a church like this.
And also the first time I seen a real and functioning organ.
I bet only an octopus can play this.

There's nothing much to see in Kingston. So, Jeffery suggested and even brought us to a costume store a few streets away from the church.

There were lot's of mask and prosthetic enhancement.

And costumes.

We sure can't resist trying on some of these.

The costume shop is the only highlight of our entire tour at the boring town of Kingston. I guess this kind of a shop exist for Halloween and costume parties. Anyway, we really had fun dressing up.
