DIY- Study Table

And so it was the beginning of a new semester. I’ve just moved from the hostel to a rented shop house near the campus. Moving into a new empty place, you need furniture. Buy new ones or bring used ones from your house, you just have to get them. I tried to bring everything available from home; mattress, chair, and a cabinet. But still, I’m still short of a very important piece of furniture: the study table. Never mind, can always purchase one from the furniture store nearby the campus. After everything is settled down, me and my new roommates made a trip to the furniture store. A piece of assembled study table cost RM80. My roommates gladly took the offer, so was I.

However, just before the boss issued the receipt, one question came to my mind: “Will it be cheaper if I assemble the table by myself?” And so that question came right out of my mouth. Guess what? I can save RM10 if I’m willing to assemble the table by myself. I only get RM30 per day as my salary when I was working as a collie. There’s no way that I’ll waste RM10 for a simple task like this. RM70 for an unassembled study table? DEAL!

A multipurpose knife is all that you need. And so I started with the drawers.

Then the table.
Almost done.
Finishing touch.
And WALAH! A functionable study table within an hour.
Yes. It was nothing unusual but not as easy as it seems. It is just another incident, which showed the change in me after experiencing “hard-earned money” as a collie.
