It was the 17th of February 2006. Our residential block in UPM is organizing a farewell dinner for the final year seniors. And hence, we as the juniors of the block have no choice but to pay RM20 and attend this event to show our support for the seniors.
The nite was ……horrible. The place is stuffy and hot; programs were boring, and most importantly, the food sucks. I wonder if anybody enjoyed the dinner, but obviously, I don’t. Then, as usual like every other official dinner, there was a lucky draw session. I was about to die of boredom when suddenly and unexpected thing happened. My number was called!
I’ve been to many functions, which there’ll be lucky draw, but I’ve never been lucky enough to be picked. Well, getting “lucky-drawed” sure is something that brightens up the whole boring dinner for me. So, I went forward to claim my prize.

However, my short-lived joy died out very very soon as I unwrapped the gift. It was the hideous clock I’ve ever seen.
Getting a clock (zhong) for lucky draw? Oh My Goodness! Fortunately, I’m not a very superstitious person, or else this will be a real taboo for me. And hence, that was it, my first time getting “lucky-drawed”.
